About Julianne
Julianne Opperwall, LMSW

Getting help is part of being human. I commend you for taking a courageous step towards greater health and hope. I believe that change and healing happen in safe relationships with others. My goal is to provide that connected, safe place to develop insight, abilities to make healthier choices, and greater self-compassion and acceptance.
I am a psychotherapist offering trauma-informed, culturally competent psychotherapy to individuals and families. My framework includes using psychodynamic, strengths-based, and relational theories with an approach that's warm, compassionate, and authentic. My areas of clinical interest include anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity concerns, relationship issues, self-esteem, sociocultural trauma, ambiguous/traumatic loss and grief, and working with oppressed and traumatized populations. I am a graduate of University of Michigan's School of Social Work program, have experience working with children, teens, adults, and families, and I always aim to treat people as people.
