About Julianne

Julianne Opperwall, LMSW

During our initial sessions, we will develop a shared understanding of what is causing your difficulties, which will provide a focus for therapy and a foundation that we can build on. I partner with people to do the deeper work of uncovering core experiences that inform daily life to create genuine change.

My goal is to provide a connected, safe relationship to develop insight, new capacities, and meaningful change. I am a psychotherapist offering trauma informed, culturally competent, and queer affirming psychotherapy to individuals. My framework includes using psychodynamic, strengths-based, and relational theories with an approach that's warm, compassionate, and authentic.

My areas of clinical expertise include anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity concerns, relationship issues, self-esteem, sociocultural trauma, ambiguous/traumatic loss and grief, and working with oppressed and traumatized populations.

I attended University of Michigan's School of Social Work program. I have experience working in hospital and home-based settings, and currently provide psychotherapy to individuals in private practice. Finding a good therapeutic match can be a difficult process, which is why I offer a free, 30-minute phone consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
